Tidas who is approximately 7 is currently hospitalized and receiving IV fluids, pain meds and antibiotics to stabilize him and make him comfortable. He is 20+ lbs underweight and was severely dehydrated. He has a fracture of the left front leg (Radius/Ulna) that will need repair once he is stable.

As you may have noticed in his picture, his face is covered in what we believed was "road rash" from the accident. We took many many xrays and words can not describe the shock when the team at Rickords Animal hospital viewed them with us. Unfortunately as if being thrown from a truck is not enough...friends that is not road rash.. Tidas has been shot head on with a shotgun!

His face, neck and back are riddled with birdshot.

We are hopeful though that this sweet boy will fully recover and learn what being a Lab should be!

He is an awesome patient so far and will be looking for a foster home to get some TLC in soon.

If you are as outraged as we are for Tidas please share his story or consider donating to Rickords towards his care.

Update: April 23

Tidas is scheduled for surgery on Thursday, April 25th to repair his front leg.

The Procedure:

Radius/Ulna Fracture repair with permanent internal fixation using titanium plate and screws.
