Elder aka "Buccee" is a big, intelligent handsome boy!

Buccee's story however will break your heart. You see...he didn't have a horrible life where he was abused or mistreated, on the contrary he was well cared for and taught how to be an obedient well mannered boy where he was very much loved.

As the leader of his pack he was a consummate stud dog, protective of his pups and pack, and social with his clan. Unfortunately, a family tragedy left just him and his adolescent offspring Berry. Not only did he lose all others in his canine pack, he lost his home too, and nearly lost his life.

Elder was the victim of what animal owners fear most...a devastating fire that destroyed the place he called home, his canine mate, their puppies and his other pack mates. This boy is understandably protective as a result. But he is loyal, and sweet and accepts leadership well. He has exceptional obedience on and off leash. he has healed from all his wounds and heartworms and is now in great health.

Elder is slow to accept other strong male dogs, and would do best with more submissive pack mates in the home. Ideally his new home would include someone who will love him and lead him, and make sure he knows he doesn't have to protect it, that's your job!

He is fabulous in his crate and with proper introduction to his access to the yard, he is great in the house too.

Elder is looking to meet just the right home to call his own.
