Hi! My name is Dixie and I am a beautiful black Lab...not too big not too small but just right. That's why my mom said she named me Dixie because dix is "10" in French!! I weigh about 65 pounds and look and behave like a "dreamboat"....not sure exactly what that is, but mom says it a lot. I have a gorgeous labby head as you can see in my pictures.

My age is around 2 yrs 8 months. You will find me to be smart and well trained for a young dog. In the house I am PERFECT and I even get to stay out when mom leaves the house! You see, I have no interest in chewing things that are not my toys (well, and of course my food...yum!!).

If you want to play, I love ball, swimming, tug, and even just rolling around, but if you need to work or want to watch TV, I'm totally chill. Outside, I love walking and mom says I am good on leash. In fact, I have had professional training by a retired Army vet. He trained dogs for the Army and I was lucky to spend some time with him. You can say sit, stay, down, place, shake, drop it, leave it, off, load up, house, come and I know what to do!! In fact, I really like working on my commands. It is good for me and for you too.

Mom says I should let you know that I do well with other dogs but we don't know about cats. She thinks I would probably chase them if they run, but knows if you are the alpha dog and teach me to "leave it" she believes I would. If you are like my mom you may also want to know if I like to cuddle....why yes, I do!! In fact, you will find me to be a great companion....I don't overly crowd you, but I like to know where you are and what you are doing - I love doggie massages too.

Mom said to tell you I am not perfect, but just about as close as you can get. I get excited when I see other dogs on a leash or if we are riding in the car and I see a motorcycle. In fact, just yesterday a man stopped behind us on a bike so I barked and he waved! It was so cool. It isn't a big problem, but mom says I have to keep working on it. So we do.

I do need to find a loving and permanent home.....could I be the dog of your dreams?? I hope so...let's have treats together and see.
